The April 2025 horoscope is here, so what does this month have in store? When I prepare monthly horoscopes, I often refer back to the annual forecast that I publish at the end of the previous year, just to get a flavour of how I think the month ahead is going to unfold. I did that before writing this month’s horoscope – and then wished I had stayed under the covers. In the annual forecast I made back in December, I wrote that April was likely to be ‘explosive’. I described it as a month of aggressive communications and ‘staking a claim’, with a high risk of a dramatic and tragic conclusion. This is a pivotal month in a troubled year.
Nothing that has happened in the year to date is causing me to change my view on that. The good news is, this month’s fiery background noise does not mean that your personal horoscope puts you at risk. The fiery Mars – Pluto opposition and abundant Aries energy, with both Mercury and Venus going direct in that sign, makes this a month of action, forward motion and passion. Yes, there will be tension and crisis, but there will also be resolution – and the chance to harness that energy to put your life in a new and better place. Spring is the time of birth – and Pluto suggests re-birth too. If you need to make a fresh start? Start now.
April 2025 Horoscope: Aries
There is so much happening this month – especially in your sign – but you may not notice at first, as Neptune may cushion the blows. The planet of mystery may introduce self-doubt into your life – and that’s probably a new experience for you. Bold, brash, confident Aries is rarely troubled by loss of faith, but Mercury and Venus retrograde are making you reconsider your value system. Thinking hard about what you really want from life may feature this month – but be aware that those messages may be brought by financial or relationship issues.
Matters come to a head mid-month – especially where your relationships are concerned. There may be issues with commitment, security, home, family and money – and Neptune’s presence suggests that there may be issues you are unaware of that will impact on those matters this month. When Mars changes signs, you may be inclined to take a few risks if it means you get your own way about the things that mean a lot to you. This is a month with a lot of fire energy: if anyone is going to get things started, it’s you, so jump into the driving seat, as the road clears in the second half of April.
April 2025 Horoscope: Taurus
If Neptune isn’t making you sleep like a baby, nothing will. Neptune is here to soothe your troubled soul – at least that’s what we hope. Neptune is in Aries, so your imagination is going to be stimulated – and this is unusual for you, as Taurus is not the most imaginative of signs. You are practical solid and reliable – but you’re also going through some radical changes. Uranus has been upending your life for some time, and this month, a contact from Mars will trigger change. Don’t worry: you will have the chance to build a more secure future – and that’s good news.
Mercury and Venus start the month retrograde; you may have been dwelling on financial matters since they joined forces last month. Perhaps you have money worries – or simply imagine that you have such concerns. From the middle of April, you’ll be in a position to work on those issues, as certain matters will become clear to you. Sometimes to most obvious improvements are not the ones we think of first; when Mars changes signs and opposes Pluto, whatever was blocking you from reaching your goals will be blown away. With the new moon in your sign, as the month ends, you will feel like a new person.
April 2025 Horoscope: Gemini
It’s a complex month, but you love to indulge in mental acrobatics – especially now that Jupiter is lodged in your sign. Too much information is never enough, but even you may feel mentally overburdened this month. The reason? I’m not accusing you of social media addiction, but if the cap fits… The signs are it’s time to review how much you’re engaging with social media relationships rather than social relationships with real people. When Mercury and Venus move forwards in Aries, you’ll start to realise which one of those is of more value to you. There are more urgent matters to deal with. Like your cash flow.
Money (or the lack of it) may be keeping you awake at night. This month, those brilliant ideas you have in the dead of night may reveal how you can become more stable and secure – especially where your career is concerned. If your prospects are limited – do something about it. Mars is well placed to track down better pay and conditions – but sometimes you have to fight for what you want, so bear that in mind. From mid-April, friends, colleagues – and even your partner – may show you the way forwards, or pass good things your way. From mid- month, your mind is working overtime – and your outlook is transformed.
April 2025 Horoscope: Cancer
Mercury and Venus retrograde are making you think twice about what you want from life. What does success mean to you? And just as you’re getting to grips with that, Neptune joins the discussion. Two things may happen: either it adds a little magic, or you feel even more confused. As the retrogrades end, you may realise there are many ways to get more from life, and keep the feel-good factor that’s so important to you. In fact, harmony is so important this month, that you aim to achieve it at all costs. The full moon mid-month may reveal how you can improve your personal and financial security..
Given the above, it’s just as well that Mars is making you more assertive than usual. Someone has to take the lead, and this month, that someone is you. You may have a romantic view of where you want life to take you, and nothing will stop you from making it happen. At worst, you may appear overly forceful, but you your charm ensures you get your way. Apply your drive to your career; that’s the arena where you will find most satisfaction. When Mars changes signs, it’s time to chase a bigger pay check. You’re at a turning point in life – so turn!
April 2025 Horoscope: Leo
Are Mercury and Venus retrograde making you think twice about your holiday plans? If you were having second thoughts about your destination, Neptune’s ingress into your long distance travel sector is not going to help matters. Everything may be up in the air as the month begins, but once Mercury and Venus turn direct, you’ll have a clear idea of where you want to go – and how you’re going to pay for it. Why is that? Well, the full moon in Libra (mid-month) brings news and, hopefully, it will be the kind of news that tells you where you stand. It will focus on partners and partnerships, but legal matters are also well starred.
Whatever happens, you’ll go from inertia to hyperactive in a heartbeat. When Mars enters your sign on April 19th, it gives you a much needed energy boost and a positive outlook too. Those holiday plans? They are back on track. Your direction of travel is forwards and you have the energy to make lasting – and long overdue – changes to your life. That will include career changes for some of you. It’s an impulsive time and you may decide to make a radical job change – though the change may be unexpected. The new moon at the end of the month suggests your career will be in a new place – whatever happens.
April 2025 Horoscope: Virgo
As the month begins, you may be trying to get your head around the price of change. You know you want to change something – but you’re not sure what. Maybe you’re not sure how. Or where. And Neptune doesn’t help. Every idea or possibility seems out of reach, impractical or crazy. As a sensible earth sign, that’s not where you want to be. Fortunately, Mercury and Venus move forwards by mid-month, and the full moon also shines its light on your need for stability. That’s what you need – and that (you now realise) means financial stability, relationship stability – and firm values. That’s the change you’ve been waiting for.
Unfortunately, you may have to wait a little longer. Mars changes signs this month and that may frustrate your plans. Every Virgo has plans, but yours seem subject to upheaval at short notice. That pattern emerges early in the month, as sudden misunderstandings, unexpected travel hitches and radical changes of perspective seem to catch you unawares. You need to take control, so the opportunity to spend time reflecting what to do about a certain situation – rather that rushing in – may be time well spent. Repeating mistakes is not something you like to do. Fortunately, you are the last person to skip preparation.
April 2025 Horoscope: Libra
The month opens with both Mercury and Venus retrograde in your house of love. You may be looking closely at the worth of a certain relationship, or revising your opinion of a certain person. You may be re-engaging with a former partner, or checking the small print in a business contract. Both planets move forwards by mid-month, so make no commitments before they do. Normally, this would be simple – but Neptune has just changed signs. This may complicate matters – largely because you may see what you want to see. And this tendency may get worse when Mars changes signs; you may be easily seduced.
As the month starts, Mars is active in your career sector. This is a hard working month. Some of you will feel overburdened. Others will be glad of the chance to get the job done. It’s a great energy for tackling jobs that have overrun, or that you’ve been avoiding. There is also the chance to make some radical changes to your work structure. Whatever happens, the full moon mid-month will put the focus on you. It’s going to be difficult to duck responsibility this month – but it is a good time to show initiative. Aim to have everything in place for a fresh start by the end of the month.
April 2025 Horoscope: Scorpio
Sometimes it’s hard to know where to make improvements. Neptune’s ingress into Aries has descended like a fog, and with Mercury and Venus both retrograde, you may feel as if you’re going backwards rather than full steam ahead. That changes by the middle of April. When the planets move forwards, your plans will materialise. Anything involving redecoration, style, colour, culture and passion is well-starred. So is your need for a time out; preparation may be everything, but you’re only human and if you’ve been working too hard it will show. Take a break.
Mars is the planet of passion – and this month, your passions may be some distance from home. You want to travel. In fact, you want to travel now. Early in the month, you may feel like taking an impulsive holiday – and if you do, your timing could be good, because when Mars changes signs, your energy will be diverted towards your career and other responsibilities. If your working day or personal organisation has gone adrift, now is the time to tow it back to shore. There is a proviso: you need to go easy on yourself. Self-care and kindness are important this month.
April 2025 Horoscope: Sagittarius
Some of us are made to enjoy life – and you are one of those people. However, April brings a moment of unaccustomed reflection, as Mercury and Venus retrograde are making you think hard about the value of pleasure. If you’re used to indulging yourself, the price tag may be causing you some concern. If you’re supposed to be having fun, but life doesn’t quite feel that way, it’s time to think hard about what is worth while – and what is not. Mars is going to help you make some radical and far reaching changes – and ‘far reaching’ is where you will want to be when Mars changes signs.
This is a transitional month for you, so it’s lucky you handle change better than most people. The full moon mid-month will help you to see the way ahead – and that way may be some distance from where you are now. Your energy levels are huge after Mars changes signs, so ensure you have a good outlet for it; the signs are you will be hard at work, as Mars aspects both Saturn and Uranus. If you’re looking for fresh challenges, a change of direction, or the opportunity to engage with life on your own terms, this is a good time to do so. April 2025 Horoscope: Capricorn
If you’re thinking of redecorating your home, this is a good month to order those swatches. Mercury and Venus will turn direct in your home and family sector – and that will put everything from your home style choices to your family relationships back on track. It’s also a good time to think about purchasing a new home if that’s where your life is right now. If that sounds too good to be true – there is a potential downside: Neptune has entered Aries and that may make it hard for you to make rational choices, so use your senses and intuition instead. If it feels right, do it.
Mars is also making an impact in your relationship zone and that means partnerships can be sexy, spiky – or both. When Mars changes signs, use its energy to make some meaningful changes in your life. If you have been prone to negative thoughts, try to improve your state of mind. One way of doing that will be to work on what is most important to you – the full moon mid-month will help you to get your priorities in order. By the end of the month, you will feel at ease with the world. If life is going your way – enjoy the moment. You have worked hard to get to where you are now.
April 2025 Horoscope: Aquarius
Neptune has just entered your sign for the first time in years. It will be there until October – and that’s a long time to have brain fog. What this tells you is that you are going to have to get your head around a few things – starting now – and that may not be easy to do. Venus and Mercury have been retrograde in the same part of your chart, so you may have had a lot on your mind – particularly where your partner, relationships, money or values are concerned. You may not have been capable of discussing your concerns. You may not have wanted to do so. Either way, it’s messing with your head.
You’ll be relived to learn that Mercury and Venus move forwards this month so you can start to say what’s on your mind. Say what you want. Articulate your desires. The full moon mid-month is going to help you to see the big picture, so your improved understanding of a certain situation may help you to say the right thing. Mars changes signs this month. The first half of April is hard work – and you have the energy to do that – but the second half of April may see your partner becoming busy or angry at something – let’s hope it’s not you. This energy is best used to invigorate relationships. Take the initiative and be active together.
April 2025 Horoscope: Pisces
Neptune is your ruler, so you’re comfortable with its influence, but it’s just left your sign and that means you’re in for a reality check. Unfortunately for you, Neptune has drifted into your house of reality: you are going to have to work with an energy that may make your life less stable than you would like it to be. The upside is, that situation something you can handle better than most people. The downside is, you may be tempted to let things slide, or ignore the fine print. With Venus and Mercury about to turn direct in your sign, you may have to deal with the consequences of that this month.
he I can understand that, as your energy and passion is now directed towards having a good time. It may be fun, but it’s a high risk strategy. When Mars changes signs, the hard work begins: the full moon mid-month will leave you in no doubt about how things have to change. If something in your life is unsustainable, it will have to go. One problem is, you tend to avoid making tough decisions. From the end of the month, the new moon will remind you that serious thinking is not a luxury, it’s an essential – and it will be essential for you to get your head around what is realistic and what is not.
