The March 2025 horoscope arrives with the coming of what the weather forecasters call, ‘meteorological spring’, on the first day of March. Astrologically I’m not so sure about that, as I prefer to associate the birth of new life with the sign of Aries – and that arrives later in the month with the spring equinox, the day the Sun moves north of the equator for the first time in far too long. This transitional space between spring and late winter aligns with the spirit of Pisces, a mutable sign, symbolised by the fish darting one way then another. It will be a few weeks before the season has clear sense of direction.

There is a massive focus on your sign this month. If stuff is going to happen, it’s going to happen to Aries – but action may be internal rather than external, as you may have to think about what you really want out of life. If things can’t go on as they are, it often helps to take a couple of paces back. This month, Mercury and Venus suggest you make that retrograde journey and they prompt you to think hard about how you can make the most of your life. Outer events may have forced you into this particular corner, but you may have to ask yourself, what’s stopping you from getting ahead? What are you afraid of?
Aries is supposed to be bold and brave, but the truth is you have worries and fears like everyone else; you’re just good at putting on a brave face. This may hit you mid-month when the lunar eclipse reveals a situation that could use improvement. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as the lunar eclipse is in Virgo, and that suggests you need to be realistic about the future. Make sure your plans are workable. Let go of any hopes that you know are unlikely to be fulfilled. The solar eclipse, and Neptune changing sign, at the end of the month signal a fresh start and a healing moment. The message here is that you were always going to have to face some form of permanent change. It’s a ‘no going back’ moment and realism, practicality and common sense may be the best strategic responses. By the end of the month, the solar eclipse triggers the retrograde activity: relationships and conversations may be tinged with kindness thanks to Neptune’s influence. Your state of mind may be dazed and confused, but one thing is clear: your head is in a very different place to where it was only a short time ago.

That’s at the end of the month, but before it happens, there is a lot to deal with, particularly in your house of resources. Venus turns retrograde, so you may have some financial issues you need to reconsider. It’s a good time to draw up a new budget and when Mercury turns retrograde mid-month, you’ll work out where the cash has gone. You may have to ask some tough questions – especially of yourself. It may not be such a good month for your self-esteem.
The lunar eclipse falls in your house of partnerships and there may be some ‘face-offs’ there – especially if your partner has contributed to your financial woes. In what could be a confrontational month (a lot of Aries energy), your approach needs to be to solution based, rather than apportioning blame. Work with your partner (business or personal) to reach an agreement about where you go from here. The solar eclipse at the end of the month brings in a new era of stability, though it may not feel that way at first, as Neptune’s clouds obscure your view. Have faith – but try and keep your feet on the ground too.
