It’s time for the The Astrology of 2025 (Part Two). When I wrote my astrological forecast for the first part of the year, I closed my prediction for the first six months with this remark:

If you thought 2024 was one heck of a year, 2025 has just bowled up to say, “Hold my beer”. And this is the problem with moments of significant change – they don’t come easy. Right now, I feel as if anything is possible, including despotism, war, and all kinds of things you don’t usually think about as you enter a new year.”

It’s now June. And so far, despotism, war and crises of all kinds have come to pass. I had June starred as the month where there would be issues with undermining leadership, together with aggressive rule-breaking, as Uranus in the last degree of Taurus is blowing apart everything that once seemed so certain and secure – and I mean everything. So, what’s likely to unfold in the second half of the year? Read on.

The Astrology of 2025 (Part Two): Overview

If you’re used to the ‘Big Horoscope’ format of earlier years, this year is different. With Pluto in Aquarius, everything has changed, including the structure of my annual forecast. I set out the big shifts in the skies for the first half of the year in part one of The Astrology of 2025 – and this one is the follow up to that.. When planetary shifts hit your natal chart planets and points, those contacts have personal resonance for you, as all planetary movements land in your natal chart somewhere. Otherwise, you will notice this year’s themes reflected in world events, wherever you live.

The Astrology of 2025: July

In July, the astrology of 2025’s major astrological influences are:

  • Uranus enters Gemini ( July 8th).
  • Uranus changing signs means the transiting outer planer minor trine is now in air and fire signs.
  • Saturn turns retrograde and conjuncts Neptune.
  • As the month progresses, Saturn joins the transiting outer planet minor trine, making sextile aspects to Uranus and Pluto.
  • Mercury retrograde in Leo. (July 18th).
  • Full Moon in Capricorn (July 10th).
  • New Moon in Leo (July 24th).

There is something to be thankful for as the second half of the year begins: Mars and Uranus are no longer in aspect, but don’t get too excited because Uranus enters Gemini and continues the process of radical change – just in a different way. When outer planets change signs, the change of emphasis is immediate – especially with Uranus. This is the first ingress of Uranus into Gemini; it lasts until November, and it will show what we can expect when this transit is in place for the long term. Add Mercury retrograde to the mix and upsets in communications become this month’s big news.

This month, expect rapidly changing news cycles, shocking and surprising messages. You may not know what to think, as things are about to get a little crazy. You may have to be unusually flexible, as July kick starts a period of mental uncertainty. The long term process of change accelerates, and when Saturn joins that transiting outer planet ‘mini triangle’, reality is going to bite. Everything you thought was too far fetched to happen, will happen. It may seem mind-blowing, but you have to deal with the world as it is – and the world this month may not seem to make much sense at all.

The Astrology of 2025: August

The major influences affecting the astrology of 2025 during August are as follows:

  • Mars enters Libra (August 6th) and forms a kite aspect pattern with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
  • Mercury direct in Leo (August 11th).
  • Venus aspects the outer planets late in the month (August 26th-27th).
  • Saturn retrograde is sextile Uranus.
  • Uranus sextile Neptune.
  • Full Moon in Aquarius (August 9th).
  • New Moon in Virgo (August 23rd).

August sees the start of the astrological ‘kite flying’ season, as kite aspect patterns dominate the heavens for the next three months. A kite aspect pattern is formed when a grand trine and a minor trine combine. It’s considered a mark of creative change and transformation, but it can be assertive or aggressive. It brings rapid results. It’s active and it’s a powerful driver of events. This month, Mars opposes Neptune (part of the outer planet minor trine), creates the kite – and triggers that process. Mars is also a red flag for conflict; don’t expect actions to be uncontested.

This month events are going to unfold at pace. They will be transformational because the connect to the cultural, social and political shifts being put in place by the outer planet minor trine. Change is inevitable. If you want to know how the future is going to look, pay attention to events that happen this month. And if you want to direct change, stand up and assert yourself. There is no shortage of assertion and motivation in August. Leaders and leadership will be big themes this month.

The Astrology of 2025: September

The most important influences affecting the astrology of 2025 during September are:

  • Saturn retrograde returns to Pisces (September 1st).
  • Uranus retrograde in Gemini (September 6th).
  • Lunar eclipse in Pisces (September 7th).
  • Mercury in Libra forms kite aspect pattern with the outer planet minor trine (September 17th-19th).
  • Solar eclipse in Virgo (September 21st).
  • Solar eclipse forms kite aspect pattern with the outer planet minor trine.
  • Mars enters Scorpio and makes square aspect to Pluto (September 24th).

Will the dust settle in September? Saturn retrograde in Pisces brings a reality check. It may bring loss and sorrow. Time will run out for someone – or something. This month, look out for situations that are running out of time – and running out of road – especially close to the September 7th lunar eclipse when matters are likely to reach a conclusion. Saturn retrograde returns to a place we have been before. Its purpose is to obtain closure and move on. Events this month may prompt some serious soul searching.

Later in the month there is a dynamic new beginning. A solar eclipse transforms the outer planet minor trine into a kite formation and that changes everything. Events linked to the solar eclipse place the world on a different path – and that may apply to your life too if the eclipse makes a meaningful contact with your chart. In either case, there is no going back. The end of the month is not without stress. Mars squares Pluto; bitter conflict is often the result of this aspect. It may be an explosive or destructive end to the month.

The Astrology of 2025: October

The astrology of 2025 shows the major influences for October 2025 are as follows:

  • Full Moon in Aries (October 7th).
  • Venus forms kite aspect pattern with the outer planets (October 11th-14th).
  • New Moon in Libra (October 21st).
  • Mercury forms kite aspect pattern with outer planets (October 25th-30th).
  • Mars in Scorpio forms grand trine with Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces at end of October.

As far as the astrology of 2025 is concerned, I predicted that the period of July-September was going to be hot – in all senses. Here we are in October. Venus and Libra become major influences and Mars in Scorpio forms a water grand trine with Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces. I’ll be honest – there are several ways of looking at this month: there is potential for reaching compromise and agreement, and for initiating new alliances and relationships, or there’s the potential for taking sides.

This could be the most constructive month of the year, though I would err on the side of caution. Themes that feature this month include: disciplined expansion, a sense of purpose, recognition of ambition, pragmatism and working towards long term goals. Mars adds speed, directness and a sense of urgency. There is a sense of confidence, hopefully without that confidence being misplaced. The end of the month sees dynamic communication. There is considerable healing and emotional energy available, but emotions can be manipulated – and Mars is in Scorpio, the most manipulative of signs.

The Astrology of 2025: November

So what are the big influences the astrology of 2025 has in store for November? Here they are:

  • Mars in Sagittarius opposite Uranus in Gemini (November 4th).
  • Uranus retrogrades into Taurus until April 2026 (November 8th).
  • Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius (November 9th).
  • Jupiter retrograde in Cancer (November 11th).
  • Saturn turns direct in Pisces (November 28th).
  • Mercury, Venus and Mars trigger the outer planet minor trine at various times during the month.
  • Full Moon in Taurus (November 5th).
  • New Moon in Scorpio (November 20th).

We are at the cool end of the year, but there is the potential for this to be a heated month. Uranus moves back into Taurus, and when an outer planet retrogrades before changing signs, it speaks of unfinished business. In a month with retrograde Mercury and Jupiter, that’s a lot of unfinished business. Uranus in Taurus has demolished everything we have taken for granted; this month the ground will be cleared for good. However, before Uranus changes signs, it is opposed by Mars.

Mars opposite Uranus is wild and explosive. It’s the energy of sudden release, an unexpected outburst of anger, lashing out and crazed attacks – verbal or otherwise. This is the aspect of popular rage, revolution and rebellion. This month Saturn moves forwards in Pisces for the last time. The line has been drawn, the gate is closed, the time for hesitation is over. This is about radical action, a fight for freedom, independence and sudden breakthroughs. ‘Cut through’ is a major theme this month.

The Astrology of 2025: December

The astrology of 2025 closes with the following astrological influences:

  • Neptune direct in Pisces (December 10th)
  • Mars enters Capricorn (December 15th).
  • Mars in Capricorn makes square aspect to Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Pisces (December 9th-14th).
  • Full Moon in Gemini (December 4th).
  • New Moon in Sagittarius (December 20th).
  • New Moon makes a square aspect to Saturn conjunction Neptune in Pisces.

For most of this year, Saturn and Neptune have been sailing close together in Pisces. It’s not an easy combination; dreams are confronted with reality; the world as it is may not be the world as you would like it to be. Ideals are confronted by what is possible. Deception is laid bare. That’s where we are in December, when this conjunction occurs in Pisces. Astrologically, these two planets meet up every 36 years and it’s always a turning point in history. The question is, how will history turn?

Neptune will be moving forwards when this pair are squared by the new moon in Sagittarius. I would like to think that his new moon is an optimistic one, full of opportunity. At the end of the year, the astrology of 2025 closes the door on a difficult and traumatic year. The conjunction between Saturn and Neptune becomes exact in February 2026, in Aries. A new year, a new sign and a new beginning. Whatever direction it takes, rest assured history will turn early in 2026, perhaps due to the seeds planted by the new moon in Sagittarius. Happy New Year? Maybe…
