Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Introduction

Jupiter conjunct Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn means things just got a lot more serious. A while ago I wrote ‘Saturn conjunct Pluto Transits in Capricorn: A User’s Guide’ which gave a house by house breakdown of the effects of this powerful conjunction of two of the zodiac’s big hitters as they transit your birth chart. Now something big is about to happen (and we can expect Mars to be the trigger).

Jupiter entered Capricorn in December 2019 and is now knocking on the door. We can expect the Jupiter conjunct Saturn and Pluto stellium to take effect soon as the orb between Jupiter and Saturn and Pluto’s transiting conjunction is closing fast. From February 23rd 2020, the Jupiter conjunct Saturn and Pluto transit in Capricorn will be a reality. They will be a maximum of 9˚ (or less) apart as they travel through Capricorn to touch the cusp of Aquarius.

So, what can we expect from this celestial gatecrasher? Jupiter is astrological shorthand for big. That’s right, he amplifies everything he touches, so when Jupiter gets in touch with Saturn and Pluto, whatever noise they’ve been making in your life it’s going to get louder. However, there’s also another side to Jupiter, and that’s opportunity. Jupiter is well known as ‘the great benefic’, bringer of luck and good fortune. However, if you’re expecting a lottery win, don’t bet everything you have. Luck comes in many forms – and a close escape is often the luckiest event of your life.

In Capricorn, Jupiter has to get real. This means that all those big ideas have to stand up to scrutiny and if they’re going to be realised (and that’s what Capricorn is about) then you’re going to have to be disciplined in your approach. As Jupiter nears the Saturn Pluto transit, you will benefit from the opportunity to resolve the issues being indicated by the transit, namely, the messages I described in my earlier post,

‘Profound frustration. Destroy the establishment. Irrevocable structural change. Deep fears. Rigid control.’

Depending on where this transit is affecting your natal chart, some of these issues will be deeply personal – others less so. But, they will all need to be addressed – and Jupiter’s transit will provide you with the opportunity to do that.

So, let’s revisit the houses of your birth chart where Saturn and Pluto are transiting in conjunction and see where Jupiter in Capricorn will have most effect. However, before we go there, I want to expand (very Jupiter) on the things we need to look at while Jupiter is in Capricorn. There will be times when Jupiter is closer to Saturn than Pluto – and vice versa.

So, this post is the first of three posts about Jupiter conjunctions in Capricorn. In the next post I’ll be looking at the effects of Jupiter conjunct Pluto, followed by a final post on Jupiter conjunct Saturn, ‘The Great Conjunction’. However, for now, back to the celestial trio. How is it looking for you?

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: First House

The Saturn and Pluto transiting conjunction has been dropping big hints that you need to need to change the way you approach life. This could involve the way you appear to the world or present yourself to others. At a detail level, this could involve your physical appearance, how mature you appear to be (or otherwise), your attitude, your identity and feelings about who you are. If something hasn’t yet happened to bring these things to your attention, then when Jupiter hits, it will.

Everyone assumes that events associated with Jupiter are pleasant and fun. I’ll let you into a secret. That’s not always so. However, whatever the event entails, it will provide you with the kickstart you need into making the changes that have been boiling under the surface for longer than you care to admit to. Think big. Redefine yourself in the way that will best move your life forward. But don’t expect it to happen overnight. It will take application – and time.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Second House.

During their transit of your second house, Saturn and Capricorn have been holding your finances, value system and self esteem up for inspection. If you’ve been feeling increasingly uncomfortable over the past year, that’s why. Money may have been tight – or you’ve felt you’ve had to cut back. You may wonder if it’s worth it, and indeed, if you’re worth it – as those things are connected by their associations with your second house. When Jupiter arrives, you may initially experience an event that feels like it’s the final straw.

Wait a moment. Perhaps it’s really not as bad as it seems. What Jupiter is doing is giving you the strength to tackle those issues. If you keep working at them, the light at the tunnel will appear – and the future could start to look a lot brighter than it does now.

Jupiter is giving you the opportunity to work through ideas and make plans to resolve those issues. Hopefully this will result in a better frame of mind, encourage you to keep making progress and overcome any setbacks along the way. Jupiter’s aim is to help you restructure this part of your life by making you aware of how it can be improved. Work with him. Because if you don’t…

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Third House

I’ll be honest. It hasn’t been much fun having Saturn and Pluto transiting in your third house. You may have been stressed and depressed. Life may have seemed to be a continual round of arguments and disappointments. A headache, in other words, in more ways than one.

What’s more, you may be feeling rather hopeless about it all. No-one is listening. If you ever had any coping strategies to deal with this, they’ve not been working and your habitual mental and verbal responses seem to make the issues worse.

So, Jupiter’s arrival on the scene may seem heaven sent. Something may happen that triggers that root and branch review of the way you think, speak and react to the world around you. You may realise that, if you’re feeling stuck for ideas about how to achieve this, the only way to become unstuck is to look at the issues from another direction.

Jupiter’s message is that you need to stop, think, and realise there is always more than one solution to every problem. Jupiter may even present you with alternatives – but it will be up to you to choose the right one.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Fourth House

Over the past year, Saturn and Pluto may have been rocking the foundations of your world. Whether it’s home and family matters, your parents, relocation or deeply personal issues you find hard to even acknowledge, you could be finding it difficult to feel a sense of belonging right now. When Jupiter walks through your front door, it’s possible that those feelings could increase and may even become overwhelming. The thing to do is not to lock yourself in the bathroom but ask the question, ‘what am I going to do about this?’.

What Jupiter does in this situation is give you the opportunity to improve the situation. Now is the time to really think deeply about things. If you need to get things straight legally, Jupiter’s influence means it will be a good time to do so. If you’ve been meaning to relocate, extend the house, get married, start a family, buy a new home, leave home or take measures to increase your sense of security? Do it under Jupiter’s watch. You won’t need to rush into things and my advice would be – don’t. Jupiter gives you a breathing space to get yourself together – and make plans about your personal or family’s future. Use the time well.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Fifth House

With Saturn and Pluto cruising through your fifth house, you may have found you’ve been asked some serious questions about your personal development. You may have suffered personal or romantic disappointments or even found you’ve had little time to really enjoy life. Your confidence may have taken a beating over the past year and you may even be feeling bored, unfulfilled and miserable because life seems a constant round of ‘same old, same old’. There’s only one thing you’re certain of, and thats life has got to be more fun than this.

You’re right of course. It has to be. And when Jupiter turns up for the party you’re about to discover how. When you feel this way, it’s usually because you’ve not been giving yourself time and space to do the things that really make you feel good about yourself. I know in this busy world that can be hard, but all work and no play doesn’t do anyone any good.

So, Jupiter’s arrival is a signal for you to down tools and inject some fun back into your life. Some event – good or bad – may trigger this. It’s unlikely to be cost free. However, getting yourself back on track can only be a good thing – and we all need to feel good about ourselves to live life well.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Sixth House

Saturn and Pluto stamping through your sixth house must have felt crushing at times. Overworked, underpaid, employment less secure than you thought, stress, illness, issues with your work life balance – all of these may have been themes in your life during the past few months. The sixth house is about organisation and you may have felt your life has been anything but organised of late. You may have been fighting to keep things together yet have the sinking feeling you’re on the losing side. Never fear – Jupiter is here.

Jupiter’s contribution to your situation may seem less than positive at first. Whatever you’re going through may suddenly seem overwhelming, especially if something else happens that tips you over the edge. However, let’s get back to basics. If that happens – and it may – you will have the perfect opportunity to get your act together.

And that’s actually what the purpose of this stellium is. Restructure, clear out the dead weight, and Jupiter will guide you to a new path. However, it’s up to you to keep the road clear – and that means changing bad habits and time wasting routines. The message? Be productive with your life. Don’t waste it.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Seventh House

Your one to one relationships will have been subject to tension and upheaval over the past few months. For some of you, this will have been experienced as internal tension as you have maybe struggled to reconcile your relationships (work and personal) with your own relationship needs. For others, You may have seen your relationships falter and come under stress from external sources.

Partnerships may have exploded and you’re trying to pick up the pieces, but somehow, it seems there are more than a few bits missing from the jigsaw. Whichever form it has taken, you are likely to have reached a crisis point where your commitments are concerned.

So, what can Jupiter do for you? Firstly, you may experience Jupiter’s arrival bringing things to a head. This doesn’t immediately ease the tensions – far from it – but it will mean you have to confront the situation in order to resolve it or let it go. Once you have done this you can take steps to remedy the situation.

This could involve counselling or legal advice (both Jupiter related) or, you could simply run away from the situation. That may sound strange but Jupiter can look for an easy way out. Hooking up with someone else won’t solve your problems by the way. I don’t think I need to tell you the best course of action to take. On the other hand, you could decide to commit or re-commit. Jupiter always gives you choices.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Eighth House

Saturn and Pluto transiting the eighth house. What a trial. There may have been moments over the past few months where you have felt cursed. It’s very possible you’ve been going through some major life changes or dealing with some major financial matters in the recent past.

You may still be dealing with them – and wondering if your burdens will never be eased. When Jupiter arrives on the scene you may feel you can take no more. Living up to your responsibilities is not always easy – particularly if you feel the dice is loaded against you.

However, vulnerable as you may feel right now, Jupiter reminds you that it’s okay to reach out. Sometimes when you feel you’re in an impossible position you need to share. Another viewpoint or another’s input can be supportive, and not only point you towards ways in which you can cope better with the changes you are going through but can also help you to heal emotionally and move your life forwards again. The eighth house is not an easy house, but if we undertake to comply with it’s rules we can come out of it stronger and more in control of our lives. Let Jupiter help you through it.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Ninth House

Jupiter arrives home to the ninth house and finds Saturn and Pluto intruding in his domain. It’s not as though they were unannounced but while Jupiter was out, they seem to have made themselves at home, with the result that, for the past few months, you may have been feeling your world has become a limiting and oppressive place.

You feel as if you’re in a rut – quite a deep one – and you’re not sure you’re happy with where it’s taking you. You may be full of doubts about the road you’ve travelled in life but you know this much. You want out. The good news is, there is no-one better at getting you out than Jupiter.

So, what’s the plan? There are times in our lives when we know there are bigger and better things out there for us. However, you have to have a plan in mind and that means working out one simple thing. Where you go from here. To do that you need to start looking at the bigger picture, get a few things in perspective.

Having the confidence to explore your ideas and understanding of the world isn’t easy but it’s probably what you need to do as the downside is being stuck where you are and getting nowhere in life. Jupiter loves a grand scheme – so get your head around one and make it happen.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Tenth House

With Saturn and Pluto in your tenth house, you may have been feeling pressured to work out what’s truly important to you in this life. Most of us lead fairly structured lives. We mature, take our place in society and to many of those we encounter, we are recognised not for who we are, but for what we are.

However, there comes a time when you discover you identify more with what you are than who you are – and you will have been challenged of late to redefine yourself in the eyes of the world. Whether it’s your social status, career status or life path status, you will have been feeling it’s time to deal with some significant changes that cannot be avoided.

Enter Jupiter. Sometimes events that seem cataclysmic at the time can turn out to have a silver lining. Jupiter is your silver lining, the cavalry coming over the hill in the nick of time. So, that redundancy you’ve just been hit by? Look at it as a golden opportunity to move your career forward on your own terms.

Retirement? Use your now abundant time to do some good in the world. Just graduated? Follow the most inspiring career path you can – though with Jupiter you could happily plump for a fat pay cheque instead. If you have the opportunity to re-train, set up a business, reinvent yourself in the eyes of the world – then do it. Isn’t that what you’ve been waiting for?

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Eleventh House

Saturn and Pluto transiting through your eleventh house may have been making you feel like you need to take a stand on a few things – but you’re not sure what they are. There’s an underlying reason for this and that is you may feel your sense of purpose has been missing in action. So, take a deep breath and prepare to take a root and branch review of your life.

This may seem like a backward step but, what you need to understand is the motivation that brought you to where you are now. That is, if you had any. It’s too easy just to hang out with your friends, party and fail to update your aspirations and address book. Isn’t it about time you took a look at your social world – do you really feel as though you belong?

When Jupiter joins the club, you need to work out which clubs you belong to. Where in society do you fit? How do you see your future working out? Are your friendships real or have they served their time? Jupiter won’t automatically provide you with the answer to your questions, however, you’ll suddenly feel more able to work out the answers for yourself.

Events may push you into making a stand and deciding which side of the fence feels more comfortable to you. You may discover, through friends and associates, more profitable ways of spending your time – in more ways than one. Jupiter gives you the chance to recalibrate and realise there’s more to life than you thought. And you’re not alone.

Jupiter Conjunct Saturn and Pluto: Twelfth House

Isn’t it about time you let go of your baggage? During the Saturn Pluto transit of your twelfth house, it would not have been uncommon for you to have experiences some emotional crisis. Depression, feeling ‘stuck’, feeling unable to cope with life – they’re all possible experiences with this, the heaviest of transits to the house of hidden things.

That is, the place where you find it incredibly difficult to get a handle on what the hell is wrong with you. You may have had those very words said to you on more than one occasion. And in truth, you will have found it hard to answer. Because you either don’t know or you find it hard to put your feelings into words.

When Jupiter begins to float into the mix, your luck changes. It’s not that you suddenly feel the Sun come out and clear the brain fog but you perceive there’s just enough blue sky to make you feel a little better. And that’s often what you need to encourage yourself to take some action to deal with the emotional turmoil you may find yourself in.

You may hate the idea of confrontation but the truth is that your avoidance of dealing with reality has got you where you are now. So, you’ll be relieved to learn Jupiter can make this process an educational one for you. You need to learn how to draw the line, erect boundaries and love yourself more. It seems a tough lesson but don’t be afraid Jupiter is here to help you all the way.
