I can’t believe that the August 2022 horoscope is going to bring anything hotter than we’ve experienced this month. Record breaking temperatures are making life uncomfortable. Wildfires have caused a great deal of damage to homes, property and the natural world – and some people have lost their lives too. To add to the heat, I read in the news that a volcano has erupted in Japan – it doesn’t get any hotter than molten lava pouring down a mountainside.
So, I’m currently grateful for a few days cloudy respite – and hoping that the garden gets some much needed rain. A few months ago, I wrote about Jupiter transiting Aries – and It seems that the King of the Gods has truly been turning up the heat this year – in all kinds of ways. So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at the month to come from a personal perspective. You can choose to read your monthly horoscope for either your sun sign, ascending sign – or both.
August 2022 Horoscope: Aries
This month sees a lot of activity that involves money. You’re an impulsive person and that may be emphasised this month as Mars and Uranus get their hands on your wallet. That’s not helped as Jupiter is making you feel expansive right now, so saying ‘no’ to anything may be difficult. Early in the month you may be spending on your home, but later on it’s likely to be party time – and there is a danger that the latter part of the month may see a few arguments. Whether or not that’s connected to your spending – and that may have been an issue for a while – is something to be seen.
The Full Moon may be a moment of realisation that triggers the impulse to get out more or become more involved. If you’ve been feeling more socially isolated than usual, or if you have been frustrated that you haven’t been as socially engaged as you would like to be, this is the time to wake up to the fact that some of this may be down to your own negative attitude. The New Moon at the end of the month gives you the opportunity to re-organise your life and work out where your priorities lie. It’s a good time to get the details right – especially as that’s not your strong suit.
August 2022 Horoscope: Taurus
The month opens with you feeling more energetic than usual – but a problem you may have is knowing how to use that energy for the best. You are usually so steady, yet for some reason you’re jumpy and excitable this month. If you can’t put your finger on the reasons why, don’t worry too much about it. By the latter part of the month, that energy will be found in a much more productive place. This month also sees you being sociable – in fact you may be in demand. You may be enjoying some good company or even a good book; the important thing is to be pro-active this month.
The Full Moon this month falls in Aquarius – and that’s an edgy sign. It also hits your career and status sector, so you may have to use some of that excitable energy dealing with a few issues at work. If you’ve ben trying to make some changes there, this is the month when change could happen – and it may happen in ways that you weren’t expecting. If you feel as though life has knocked you sideways, the New Moon at the end of the month will give the the opportunity to think about how you can back on track and live life in ways that enable you to do the things you truly want to do.
August 2022 Horoscope: Gemini
It may not be the hot weather that’s making it difficult for you to sleep. If your mind is racing, you may need to need to ask yourself what’s really going on in there, as there may be a few things you need to get your head around, before you go to bed at night. Alternatively, a few of you may find the night to be easier to work in than the day. If you have to do that because of your work commitments, it may give you the chance to earn some extra cash this month. As the month goes by, you’ll feel a surge of energy – but beware of irritability: not everyone will feel as energetic as you.
The Full Moon shines on your travel sector this month, but Saturn is sitting there too, so you may feel frustrated if you’re not able to get away on holiday this year. What you may need to develop is a sense of perspective; sometimes you simply have to work harder at overcoming life’s limitations. You’ll discover that the efforts you make now will bring you a greater reward in the future. The New Moon brings your focus back to your home base. It’s a good time to think about home improvements or re-organisation; if you’re good with your hands it’s a great time to start that overdue DIY project.
August 2022 Horoscope: Cancer
Something is making you feisty this month and it may not be of your own making. Whether there’s a social issue that you’re finding annoying, or maybe one of your acquaintances has said something to offend you, my advice would be to deal with it now rather than let it grow. Why? Well, the chances are that you’ll spend too much time letting whatever it is live rent-free in your head – and it would be a shame to lose sleep over something you can resolve now. In true Cancer style, you’re more likely to deal with things via retail therapy. Just make sure you can afford it.
The Full Moon this month hits a particularly sensitive part of your natal chart, so it’s not surprising you feel the urge to splurge. On a positive note, if it helps you to clear your mind that’s a good thing, but it would probably be better to clear the air – kind words and heartfelt gestures may go a long way this month. However, if something has gone unspoken for too long, this may be the time to speak your mind – and move on. By the time of the New Moon, you’ll discover that this was the best strategy; a clear outlook is always preferable to confusion, so use that to take your life forwards.
August 2022 Horoscope: Leo
There is a lot of energy going into your career this month, though you may feel as if you’re firefighting rather than making progress. Things may seem a little unstable right now – Uranus in this sector of your chart is causing some career stress and right right now your hopes of things getting better may not be borne out by reality. But hey, it’s the summer. As the month moves on, try putting your energy into your social life or – if the big bad world is getting to you – get active about some cause you really care about. Either way, you’ll feel much happier as a result.
The Full Moon this month falls in your relationship sector – where Saturn is also at home. Spend your time dealing with any relationship issues you may have – if you need to work harder at a few things – then do so – and it may also help to see things from your partner’s perspective from time to time. By the end of the month, the New Moon will show you what needs to be done; if finances have been a concern, this could be a good moment to start thinking seriously about how to improve things – though thinking about it is not the same as doing something about it.

Virgo is supposed to be staid, yet this month you are so restless that you’re likely to take that spur of the moment holiday tat seems so unlike you, so a more likely scenario is that you find yourself making last minute travel arrangements or have your plans change unexpectedly. Even you may lose your cool at that point. However you get there, make the most of it as later in the month your energies will be focused on work – and your ambition may be fired up. Fortunately, this month also brings a good social life – and a general feeling of contentment. Apart from travel chaos, life is good.
The Full Moon shines on your work, daily life and lifestyle sector, so if you need to re-organise or accommodate some changes, now is the time to work out what you need to do and plan accordingly. Your job may be needing all of your focus, but don’t expect the rest of your life to fall into place without some effort. At the end of the month, the New Moon appears in your sign and this signals a significant fresh start for you. At first you may feel uncertain of what the future may hold, but as your ruler Mercury is also in your sign, getting your head around things should be easy.

This may not be the easiest month for you. As it begins, you may be confronted by some uncomfortable truths, trust issues or personal confrontations. You’ve been going through a period of radical change in the nature of your relationships – and this month the pace accelerates from fast to breakneck speed. You’re such a steady person, but this month you may be feeling a burst of energy that you don’t know what to do with. A suggestion; if you want to try something new or dare to do something different, this is a great time to do exactly that. Sometimes we yearn to do something, yet don’t feel brave enough. This month bravery is all around you and, as the month progresses, you’ll discover the energy you need to make a few improvements to your daily life. The good news, is that this is also a romantic month and one relationship in particular may become more intimate.
It’s also a month where you may be lucky financially. If you made an investment some time ago, it may pay off now. The Full Moon is going to shine on the money sector of your chart, so you may find you have the resources to spend on something that you’ve been wanting to purchase for a while. Saturn here will be reminding you not to go crazy – but I’m sure you will have worked out the price you’re willing to pay.
