Donald Trump solar return reports have become a staple of this website in recent years. On Sunday June 14th, Donald Trump celebrated his 80th birthday, so it’s that. time of year again. As I prepared this report, I re-read his 2025 solar return report and the year went just as I predicted. I’m going to remind you of a few of the predictions I made twelve months ago as we begin this 2026 solar return analysis – not to say ‘I told you so’, but to remind us all that every year of your life builds on what went before. The big question is, what will this year bring for POTUS47? And, by extension, the rest of us too?

There’s something I never have to say in relation to the solar return charts of ordinary people like you and me, and it’s this: this may be Donald Trump’s personal solar return forecast, but he is so powerful that his life – what he wants, says and does – affects us all, no matter where on this earth we live. So, in this post, I’m going to look at the major themes that are going to impact on him (and all of us) as his solar return year unfolds. I’m going to use a similar format to last year, so grab a coffee and let’s start by reminding ourselves how we got to where we are now.

Donald Trump Solar Return: 2025 Revisited

As I re-read Donald Trump’s solar return report for 2025-2026, a few things leapt from the screen, so here’s a few quotes from last year’s solar return report to get things underway:

It’s a powerful, patriarchal, even imperial, combination, as it suggests expansion of powers in a broad sense, including expansion of homeland. He’s not going to stop talking about Canada any time soon.

“The Jupiter – Saturn square is going to lead Donald Trump to stress-test every relationship that keeps the ‘good ship USA’ afloat. What seemed to be permanent bonds may collapse if Trump considers them his open enemies.”

“A deep and unquenchable need for personal recognition. Are we going to see monuments and buildings re-named in his honor? Is his portrait going to be displayed in every public building?”

“Turmoil and revolution in the 9th house arena, i.e., the legal system, higher education, commerce, international relations, science and the media. We already know that organizations have been under pressure to conform with what Donald Trump wants them to be – or be destroyed – so it seems that trend is going to continue.”

And finally:

“Unpredictable (Uranus) impulsiveness and anger (Mars) can lead to escalation in all kinds of situations. Creating chaos is a means of maintaining control, because it keeps people guessing. Except – ultimately – you do know what to expect, and that’s chaos, crisis and unrest. Donald Trump has the Sun conjunct Uranus in his natal chart; a predisposition to mayhem is already part of his psyche and that’s going to be readily expressed this solar return year”

Donald Trump’s 2025 solar return has clearly brought him and us to where we are today, so what about the next 12 months?

Donald Trump: Solar Return Chart 2026

Donald Trump was born in New York on June 14th 1946 at 10:54am (local time). However, as with last year, his solar return took place the day prior – on June 13th at 06:44pm (local time) in Washington DC. As with last year’s analysis, I’ve used the topocentric system of houses (because it’s the one I currently use most) and I’m looking at the chart on a ‘standalone’ basis, but with the proviso that any meaningful contacts with his natal chart will be noted.

Donald Trump solar return chart 2026-2027

Donald Trump’s solar return chart for the next 12 months is now operational, but when you get down to reading the analysis, you’ll probably notice that some of the major themes seem to be already in place, and that’s because solar return charts often ‘fade in’ a couple of months or so before the solar return date. So, what major themes are present in this solar return chart?

Donald Trump Solar Return: Chart Overview

Looking at the shape of the chart, two things stand out. First, the chart is dominated by a cradle aspect pattern and second, the action mostly takes place in the western hemisphere. The Sun is unaspected – a major concern. The solar return rising sign is Sagittarius, the Jupiter-ruled mutable fire sign known for being freedom loving, wise, adventurous and broad-minded, but equally famous for extravagance, gambling, arrogance, lawlessness and dictatorial tendencies. Bets may be taken on which approach is likely to feature most in Donald Trump’s solar return 2026…

Overall, the main features of this Donald Trump solar return are as follows:

  • Western hemisphere emphasis shows a reactive year, a need to compromise,
  • The cradle aspect pattern indicates security is paramount.
  • The unaspected Sun in the 7th house is a major chart influence.
  • The Moon is conjunct Uranus and the Descendant – and is tied into the transiting outer planet minor trine that is currently so dominant in the heavens (and is one of the minor trines supporting the cradle).
  • The top of the ‘cradle’ is formed by a Venus (8th)-Pluto(2nd) opposition showing the area of major tension.
  • Venus (at 0˚ Leo) is also conjunct Jupiter at 26˚ Cancer, so Jupiter expands the nature of the Venus-Pluto opposition.
  • Venus (8th) also in minor trine pattern with the Moon-Uranus conjunction (7th) and Neptune (4th).
  • Mercury (8th) exactly sextile Mars (6th).
  • Mercury (8th) square Saturn (4th).
  • Venus – Jupiter conjunction (8th) is in square aspect to Chiron (5th).

It’s a very different chart to last year, and there is a lot to work through. However, one theme that is emerging ahead of the pack is this: for Donald Trump, this solar return year is all about the money – and I mean that in the widest possible sense.

Donald Trump Solar Return: Chart Analysis

I’m going to divide this analysis into three sections. The first section is the major portion of the report as it deals with the interconnected web of aspects that make up the cradle aspect pattern. I’m also going to deal with that unaspected solar return Sun in this section, as it has such a major impact on how the year will unfold.

Donald Trump Solar Return: The Cradle Will Rock

I’ll start with the shape of the chart. The cradle aspect pattern located in the western hemisphere of the solar return chart shows an ongoing dialogue or topic that will dominate and define this year – whether Donald Trump wants it to or not. That issue is proclaimed by the headline opposition – Venus conjunct Jupiter (8th) in opposition to Pluto (2nd). Venus conjunction Jupiter is – literally – ‘big money’ and Pluto represents extraordinary wealth, power and financial crime. The opposition also falls across the 2nd-8th houses – the money and power houses. Astrology does not more clear than that.

So, what could that mean? In mundane astrology, Pluto in the second house may not be good news for the US or global economy. Venus conjunction Jupiter in the 8th house may signify an expansion of the national debt. None of that would be good news for Donald Trump – or your bank account. This configuration also suggests an insatiable greed for money (and other resources) and notable extravagance with ‘other people’s’ money (ie your taxes). In addition, Trump may feel that other people ‘owe him’ – a lot. Transactional relationships, exploitation and personal financial gain are big issues for him this year.

The 8th house is also a ‘death house’. I’m not suggesting that it’s terminal for Trump in the ‘unalive’ sense, but existential conditions can arise for other reasons too – and Sagittarius rising brings risk taking into focus. For example, this year may be terminal for his power or his presidency. Neptune (4th), shows his base being undermined; his support may be illusory. Also, what else could die? Mercury, Venus and Jupiter reside in the solar return 8th house – Donald Trump may obliterate diplomatic relationships, financial probity, the media and the law as he seeks to dominate. This may be a turning point year for him.

The strong 2nd-8th house axis can indicate abuse of power and resources. This year, Trump’s compulsion to own (Pluto, 2nd) will be marked. In that context, look at the condition of his unaspected 7th house Sun. There will be no restraints on Donald Trump. His unchecked ego energy may make him ‘special’, arrogant and out of touch. This could be high risk in the 7th house – it’s one of the houses of the law. Open enemies and litigation may mark the year; expect Trump to initiate lawsuits and also be litigated against. The Sagittarius Ascendant also points in this direction. However, he may experience considerable pushback.

This year, Donald Trump may have to make the best of bad situations. He may appear isolated or isolate himself. Neptune (4th) points to deep inner insecurity and vulnerability. That may make Donald Trump fear leaving his comfort zone – whether that’s a physical location or an emotionally safe space. Any attempt to prise him out of his comfort zone may make him defensive. He may lash out, avoid problems or react childishly to challenging situations. The Moon conjunct Uranus(7th) supports that potential for an emotionally volatile year.

Vulnerability and emotional volatility are closely connected to the inner void he is trying to fill with material gain – in other words the compulsion for more money and enormous wealth is deeply rooted – and this year there is no disguising that. The square to Chiron (5th) shows this deep childhood wound – but there is also potential for the financial affairs of his children to be subject to debate during the next solar return year. Inheritance and legacy will also loom large for him during this year – and that may be interpreted across a broad spectrum.

Donald Trump Solar Return: Mercury, Mars & Saturn

Money and power are driving Donald Trump’s solar return year – but that’s not the only story. Mercury (8th), Mars (6th) and Saturn (4th) lie outside the cradle, yet they will make a significant impact over the next 12 months. Mercury makes a sextile aspect to Mars – and that indicates an ongoing fluid situation. Let’s unpick that: Mercury represents mental capacity and state of mind. In the 8th house that’s subject to transformation; in other words, moving from one state to another. We have to bear in mind his age and family history (Saturn, 4th) where that’s concerned.

There are already questions about Trump’s mental capacity; the sextile to Mars will do little to dispel those. In fact, it’s likely to add fuel to the debate. Mars resides in the 6th house of health – and health management. Will those bruises on his hands (Mercury) disappear? Unlikely, as Mars is sharp and associated with needles and surgery. At best, this connection shows active(Mars) ongoing (sextile) management ( 6th house) of the inevitable changes to Trump’s mental capacity and general health as he ages. Mercury’s square aspect to Saturn (4th) supports this reasoning.

Saturn in the solar return 4th house will remind Donald Trump (and the world) of the realities of aging. He may try to delay the inevitable, but the Saturn in the 4th house shows where life becomes a burden. In mundane astrology, the fourth house also represents ‘the people’. Will Trump consider ‘the people’ to be a burden, or will the reverse be true? There are also likely to be more issues surrounding ‘The People’s House’ this year. Saturn represents construction and delays, also rules and regulations. Expect more fights about The White House – let alone at the White House – during this time. It’s also a sign of Donald Trump planning to ‘dig in’ for the long term…

And that may be the biggest story of all.

Donald Trump Solar Return: The Summary

So, where is the next year headed for Donald Trump? I think it’s fairly clear:

  • Follow the money – and there is a lot of money…
  • Those health concerns continue.
  • Detachment from reality and increased isolation.
  • Unchecked executive power and ego.
  • Losing the base.
  • Emotional volatility.
  • Planning to dig in for the long term
  • Open enemies, lawsuits and more.

I doubt that any of this is going to surprise any of you – however one thing to bear in mind is this: the Sagittarius Ascendant can be indicative of going too far and that also increases the risk element inherent in that rising sign. I haven’t yet looked at next year’s chart, but my instinctive feeling is that this is a year when Donald Trump will be going all out to consolidate his position – materially at least. Where that leaves his presidency is open to question. As is the question of how he responds to his enemies. See you for an update, this time next year!
